CHAPTER 16 – Olivia

We had all gone to throw some clothing on after Tiffany started throwing out questions like Why does it smell like sex in here? Why is everyone in their underwear? Are you having an orgy? Do you know that the average bathroom has 6,267 bacteria per square inch?

Carter had pulled on some gray sweats and a My Little Pony t-shirt. While he looked utterly adorable, I still struggled with the thought that I had ever, even in a drunken stupor, brought him home.

I am mortified.

I can’t believe I slept with a ‘Bronie.'

And what in the hell was Abbey doing with him?

Scratch that—I don’t want to know.

Abbey was in a striped romper that was adorable and that I might have to borrow/steal one of these days.

Ethan found his black t-shirt that was sporting a very suspicious looking stain on the side and a pair of jeans that I wanted to rip off with my teeth. I couldn’t help but think of the muscles that lay just underneath that material.

My skin was on fire for him even though my body ached from just being in his arms.

He wanted it just as badly as I did.

One round obviously wasn’t enough, and from the look in his eyes, he was on board for whatever my eyes were promising.

I could see his hands clenched at his sides and I smirked a little. At least I wasn’t the only one.

Abbey smiled demurely, “I’m so happy we could have you all here.”

I wanted to laugh—she hated guests.

Abbey went on, “It’s almost like an engagement party, and in a sense, as Olivia’s closest friend and the only family to her, I suppose I should be throwing one.”

Tiffany scowled, “Engagement? Ethan, what is that woman talking about? You are not marrying that woman!”

Surprisingly enough, Carter defended me, “Olivia deserves love just as much as anyone else does!”

I was touched, “Thank you, Carter.”

Carter smiled at me dismissively, “At least until he comes to his senses.”

Bastard.

Ethan choked.

Did I say that last bit out loud? Oh great, now Carter looks hurt, but at least Abbey seems immune to my terrible personality. It is nice to have friends that actually know the real you.

Ethan better not be enjoying this.

I glanced over at him, and he tried to cover his wide grin with a cough.

I gave him a look, you know, the look that says if you want me to wet your whistle you had better get this show on the road?

Ethan understood.

“Tiffany, how is Reggie?”

Reggie scowled, making it clear that he was in the room.

She bristled, “That is another thing! How could you leave this poor lamb all on his own?”

Reggie looked confused. He wasn’t sure if being called a lamb was a good thing or a bad thing.

“He was wallowing in his own filth! You should have seen the carcinogens in his fridge! No fruits or vegetables in sight. I was appalled! And to let him be on his own after an accident. I am surprised that he made it out alive.
